Transition for the 2027 School Year
Welcome. This page holds important information for families wishing to enroll your child at Maiden Gully Primary School for the 2027 school year. It details our School Zone and further important dates regarding the Foundation (Prep) Transition Program. From Term 2, parents are invited to telephone the Office and book a School Tour with the Principal, Jordan Ancrum and Assistant Principal, Kylie Freer.
Our Foundation (Prep) Transition Program aims to familiarise children and parents with our school facilities, meet Prep teachers and experience fun, engaging learning activities that introduce them to the environment and structure of school.
Families with older children are encouraged to contact the school and arrange a time to meet with the Principal, Jordan Ancrum.

Thursday 2 April – School Zones for the 2027 School Year will be updated. Visit www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au
Thursday 2 April – DET Foundation Information Packs for 2026-27 will be released and available through the website above and Kinders for Parents/Carers.
Monday 20 April – Applications for Enrolment can be received from parents/carers wishing to enrol from this date.
Monday 11 May – Maiden Gully Primary School Parent Information Evening & Tour, 6-7pm, Library. This evening session is for Parents only, but parents are encouraged to book a day tour and bring their children along when the school is alive and buzzing.
Thursday 14 May – School Tours with the Principals, choose from 10am and 1pm to visit the school in operating hours. Telephone the Office to book at time, 03 5449 6429.
Tuesday 19 May – School Tours with the Principals, choose from 10am and 1pm for a look at the school in operating hours. Telephone the Office to book at time, 03 5449 6429.

Friday 31 July – Application for Enrolments close.
Monday 3 August – Enrolment offers are made to families. Families will receive a written letter of offer and Enrolment Form.
Friday 28 August – Parents/carers to accept and return completed Enrolment Forms. Appeals for any unsuccessful families are also due by this date.
Friday 11 September – Parents are notified regarding the outcome of any appeals.
Friday 18 September – Parents of Prep students enrolled for 2027 will receive further information around Term 4 Transition.
Prep Orientation & Transition Program
Students will attend two one-hour sessions (one each week) in a Foundation classroom. Parents will receive further information about this in early October.
Tuesday 10 November or Thursday 12 November – Orientation Visit 1, 10-11am. A Parent Information Session will be held in the Library at this time.
Tuesday 17 November or Thursday 19 November – Orientation Visit 2, 10-11am.
Tuesday 8 December – Statewide Transition Day, 9:30am-11am. Students will attend this session with their 2027 class. (Other year levels will attend Step-Up with their 2027 class from 12-2pm.)
Thursday 28 January – Information Exchange Meetings. A meeting with parents, the child, and the new teacher to get to know each other before the school year begins.
Friday 29 January – Prep Entry Assessments begin. These continue on Wednesdays throughout February.
Monday 1 February – First day of school for Prep students.
